Conditional Display: should_render for Elementor elements

Conditional Display registers on every Elementor element’s Advanced area and filters elementor/frontend/*/should_render. If conditions fail, the element is not rendered (or a fallback prints).

What it actually does

Master: Enable Conditional Display, Conditions Relation (all/any), Invert Result, When conditions are not met (hide / message / template), Fallback Message, Template.

Condition groups in controls: User (login status, allowed roles), Device (desktop/tablet/mobile), Browser (chrome, firefox, safari, edge, opera), Date/Time (days, time), URL, Referrer, plus WooCommerce-oriented rules in the same file.

A preview script marks elements in the editor so you can still see hidden widgets while building.

Where to find it in WordPress

Dashboard → Features → Conditional Display. Select any section/container/column/widget → Advanced → Conditional Display.

How to set it up

  1. Enable the feature. Dashboard → Features.
  2. Select the element to gate. Do not gate the entire page header unless you mean to.
  3. Enable Conditional Display. Choose all vs any, and whether to invert.
  4. Add conditions. Example: logged in + role Customer + device mobile.
  5. Pick a fallback. Hide vs message vs Elementor template.

When this is the right tool

Notes from the implementation

Hidden does not mean secure. Passworded or role-sensitive content should use Protected Content. kingaddons.com.

FAQ

The element still shows in Elementor.

Editor preview keeps it visible on purpose. Check the front end logged out.

Is this the same as Protected Content?

No. Conditional Display is show/hide. Protected Content can password-lock and swap fallbacks.
