Maintenance Mode: a bypassable coming-soon layer
Maintenance Mode is not a Theme Builder 404. It intercepts front-end requests using kng_maintenance_settings while letting admins and allow-listed traffic through.

What it actually does
Bypass reasons tracked in analytics: wp_admin, admin_ajax_allowed, rest_logged_in, rest_allowed, login_page, elementor_editor, user_allowed, ip_whitelist, path_whitelist, cron, wp_cli.
Themes/presets in PHP include minimal, dark, gradient, aurora, neon, paper, grid, mono, spotlight, poster, ribbon, countdown, progress, subscribe, construction, split — plus logo and template_source.
Schedule uses start, end, and timezone. Secret tokens can be generated/revoked for preview links.
Where to find it in WordPress
Enable the extension. Open King Addons → Maintenance Mode. Tabs: dashboard, mode, page builder, rules, schedule, analytics, import/export.
How to set it up
- Enable Maintenance Mode. Dashboard.
- Pick mode and template. Coming soon vs maintenance; choose a theme or Elementor-built page.
- Whitelist yourself. Role, IP, or path so you can still work.
- Optional schedule. Start/end in the site timezone.
- Turn it on and test incognito. Analytics counts blocked vs bypass.

Cron, WP-CLI, and login remain reachable by design so you cannot lock yourself out as easily. kingaddons.com.
FAQ
I am locked out.
Use wp-admin login (login_page is bypassed) or WP-CLI. Then disable mode.
Does this replace Header & Footer?
No. It replaces the whole front end for non-bypass visitors.
