Install the plugin from WordPress.org, enable this extension in the dashboard, then follow the steps on this page.
What it actually does
Cookie name: ka_age_gate_status. AJAX action for DOB: ka_age_gate_validate_dob with nonce king_addons_age_gate_nonce.
Settings include enabled, audience, mode, min_age, cookie_days, display scope, exclude_ids, cpt_scope, archives, WooCommerce apply_to/categories, template, overlay color/opacity, card background/width, title/subtitle, button labels and colors, animation, logo, background image, deny_action.
Markup prints in wp_footer; a portal container is added on wp_body_open. template_redirect can send denied visitors away.
Where to find it in WordPress
Enable Age Gate in the dashboard. Configure it on the Age Gate admin page. Options: king_addons_age_gate_options.
How to set it up
- Enable Age Gate. Dashboard plus the enabled toggle in Age Gate options.
- Set minimum age and mode. Yes/no vs date-of-birth (DOB uses AJAX).
- Choose scope. Whole site, exclude IDs, CPT scope, archives, WooCommerce products/categories.
- Design the card. Logo, overlay, typography, buttons, animation.
- Set deny behavior. What happens when the visitor is under age (redirect vs stay blocked).

Can visitors skip it by deleting cookies?
Yes. It is a cookie-based gate, not government ID.
Does it work on WooCommerce products?
Yes, via WooCommerce scope options — enable those if you only want the shop gated.
